A proud mom

For those of you who don't like to read stuff about how some mom thinks her kid is soooo great at___, stop reading this now.

So, here goes.
Micah has been playing soccer for about 8 seasons (spring and fall, 2 seasons a year, just so you're not confused at how an 8 year old could be playing for 8 seasons). He has always done well and has had a great coach that has taught him a lot.  His position has mainly been sweeper and he has always been happy with that.  This year his coach decided that he wanted Micah to play middle.  Now middle is ALL over the field ALL the time.  Micah usually gets tired running a lot, so I was a little worried.
OH My GOODNESS!
He did so awesome. I am not just saying that...seriously.
After watching the world cup with us, something struck a chord and the boy is really good.  He was all over the field, doing footwork that I don't know where it came from, and he ended up being the highest scoring player on his team.
 It is great to see him love something he is doing and excel at it as he puts for the time and effort.  I was sad to see the season end.  That had a great little team.

Dudi and I left almost all the games looking at each other and wondering where this kid came from.

You could say I'm a proud mom.

Spookiest time of the year

You're pretty scared, right?!

 Ash has been wearing these teeth for about a week.  

Needless to say, he leaves a trail of droop wherever he goes.

A sneak peek {family photos}

It's that time of year...the dreaded family photo.  I love taking pictures but...my husband family does not.   After 249 pictures, there were 2 where we all looked decent-of course I didn't post the best picture, I'm saving those for a later date. 

 Without further ado, the picture fiasco fun.

Ash was having a little trouble with his smile.  He couldn't quite get it figured out.

Thankfully with a little coaching she remembered how to.  Although I wish she had also remembered how to look at the camera!

Micah was definitely the winner of the day with "most pictures with a smile."  Yes, they were suppose to be mainly family pictures, but like I said, only a few turned out so I don't have much to share...yet.

End of the season

Asher had his last game on Thursday. He did awesome this year (especially considering how the first season he played went)! I'll miss watching him run down the field and the shy little look he'd give when he scored. I can't wait to watch him again next season.

Invasion of the weirdos

Micah:  Mom, there are basically three types of kids that go to my school.  Nice ones, mean ones, and weirdos...and I'd say about 90% are wierdos.





I wonder which category he considers himself a part of.

Goooaaaaaaaaaaaaal!

Tonight Ash had a soccer game.

Now, if you've seen his team this year (which you haven't) they are awful, um... I mean awfully inexperienced.

Let me paint you a picture...

One of them lays on the middle of the field, one cries if anyone touches her and runs off the field, another one tackles all his teammates, and one of them kicks the ball out every time the ball is anywhere near him(there are only 8 on the team). The first time I saw the team I felt so bad for Dudi (he's the coach). I kept thinking of all those underdog sports movies. You know where they have this pathetic little team that they whip into shape and they end up winning the championship game...that's kinda like this team, but we are just hoping to win one game.

So far we have had 3 games. The scores were something like 6-0, 8-0, and *gasp* 9-1!

Yes it is true, we scored our first goal today! And guess who scored it...

He did a great breakaway and I grabbed my camera just in time! It was awesome and he was so excited! It was like we won the game (only we lost by 8), but hey, we take what we can get.

I was so proud of him. He's done so good this year!

Barbie drama

Liv's latest love is the Barbie movies. So when we were at Target and saw the Barbie and the Mermaid Tale Barbie, she was really excited. Of course she asked if we could get it and when I told her that we wouldn't be getting it, she sat down on the floor with her head in her hands and stated, "Mom, you ruined my life!"

I've got a long road ahead of me.
