Asher's Favorite Day

St. Patrick's Day is Asher's favorite day...

because of green.

It's his favorite color.

And if you know Asher, you know he wears something green EVERY day.

So a day dedicated to green was thrilling to him.

We started the day off with green shamrock pancakes and green milk.

And we all were sportin' our green attire.

I made Liv a green bandana dress and the boys some Sham-ROCK shirts.

Liv and I also painted our nails green, which is a big deal-she usually will only wear pink polish.

Asher has worn his shirt for the last 5 days...

I'm glad he likes it.

Even Micah liked his shirt.

We had green food for dinner and some gold (rolos) for dessert.

It's always fun to have a reason to do something different, although eating green food (i.e, milk) is a little unnerving to me.

And although Asher was hoping that the sky would be green on St. Patrick's Day, we jammed as much other "green" into the day as possible!

Better late than never...

I know it has been a while since this happened, but it was a monumental occasion, so I had to post the pictures. We had so much fun sledding with friends and playing in all the snow. It was great, and so beautiful!

Birthday x's 4

Wow! This year we reallllly drug out the whole birthday deal. I think Micah ended up celebrating his birthday 4 times.

The first time we celebrated was a week before his birthday at Disneyworld.

The second was on his birthday with just our family.

The third time was over his baptism weekend with his grandparents and other family members that came in.

And finally, the FOURTH time was his actual birthday party with friends. We didn't have a free weekend till the middle of Feb., so that's when we did it.

Of course it was Star Wars themed (His cake was a star wars lego guy. At some point I will draw the line as far as cake requests go).

It was a lot of fun and we had star wars food and games! Thankfully I can just reuse ideas from previous years!

Baptism day

In January Micah turned eight. So at the beginning of February he was baptized. We were lucky enough to have both sets of grandparents, his great-grandma, his Uncle James, and cousin Luke come in town for this special event.

I still can't believe he's this old.

We had a lot of friends and family there. It was really special to have all those people that Micah knows and loves there.

We are so proud of Micah and the choice he made to be baptised. I know his Heavenly Father is too!

Dear Uncle James...

Somehow you have achieved the impossible-you have won over Asher within a couple of days. He usually takes time to warm up to people, but in the short visit you had, you did it.

Over the past week these are some of the comments I have heard him make, "I miss Uncle James, he's really fun. I like when he tickles us." Another time he was talking with Liv and said, "I really love Uncle James, don't you Liv?" To which she replied, "No, I love Luke." ( Luke her cousin, not Skywalker. Both would probably be true, but in this case, she was talking about her cousin.)
