Boo at the zoo

This year we took the kids to "boo at the zoo" which is were the kids get to trick or treat at the zoo.

 A lot of the animals that usually aren't out during the day, were out at night.

They had a lot of reptiles and insect displays where you could and touch the animals.

Olivia has been pretending to be a cat since we got the animal masks.

We had a GREAT night and can't wait to do it again next year. 

I think this will become a yearly event for us.

Pumpkin guts

After our trip to the pumpkin patch we got busy carving our pumpkins.

 Micah decided to stick his face in the pumpkin "guts" he had scooped out of his pumpkin.  

 This year for Asher and Olivia we tried the potato head pumpkins.  

They were a big hit and turned out really cute.

Costume party

The boys decided they wanted to have some friends over for a halloween party the weekend before Halloween.  We got a group of their friends, some food, and had some fun!

 Liv was the only girl in attendance.  Her

 Rapunzel costume wasn't finished so she made a cute ballerina.

pumpkins!

The Annual trip to the pumpkin patch is one of our favorite family activities.

Something about all that orange, and the weather turning cool, it's great!

 Asher found his pumpkin right away.  i'd never seen gray pumpkins, but these were perfect for his skeleton pumpkin!

 Liv had to scope them all out.  

They were all "her favorites."

 I love that they give us a wagon to put our "loot" in.  

We always seem to fill it too!

 Micah was on the search for the biggest pumpkin he could find.

 They also had this cute little train for the kids.  Micah was less than thrilled to ride it, but Ash and Livy wanted him to, so he was a trooper.

excuses, excuses

I always feel guilty when I haven't blogged much.  After all this is a journal of sorts.

But I've been busy having fun.

I gave in and got one.  

It is so fabulous.  

I love any reason to try a new project.

And I love my husband even more for putting up with me.

I fell in love when I saw this idea.  

A trip to the dollar store for a book, and I have a wreath that cost a $1.

That is my kind of project.

Yes, it was a laid back month.

I really love this time of year, and I love staying busy!

Liv's field trip

 We took a tour of the firestation recently with a bunch of kids from the ward.

It was really cute and the kids had a great time touring the firehouse and firetrucks.  

Livy was really cute.  When they toured the firehouse we got to see their bedrooms.  Livy asked me which bed was the fireman's (the one giving the tour).  I told her I didn't know, so she went right up to him and asked.  She's so funny.  We had a good time and thankfully no alarms sounded while we were there!

Last month was Dudi's birthday. 

So of course he got to pick the birthday dinner.  

Austrian anyone?

 Schnitzel.

It turned out really good.  Even the kids liked it, but then again it is fried!

Somehow there is no cake picure, hmmmm.

Dudi spent most of his birthday at church, but the night before we were able to go out with some friends.

He is such a great husband and father.  

We got him a new satchel for his birthday.  He now has all the kids calling it his man purse.
