Fun run 2008

Each year Micah's school holds an event called the "Fun Run" to promote exercise and health in kids. What happens is, the kids train to run a mile in P. E. for a few weeks and then on a given day they race. Parents are encouraged to run with their children or come and cheer them on.

The fun run is a big deal.

This year Micah really wanted to win a ribbon. Only the first 4 get one. Oh, boy. Here's how it went down.

Micah and his running partner (Dudi, not me) at the starting line with about a zillion other 1st graders.

Run, Micah!

Micah ran the entire mile. No stops, no drinks (till after the race).

He placed 5th. He did AWESOME.

I couldn't have been prouder.

Yaaaaaaaaaay Micah!!!!!!!!! That gave me chills!! The Fun Run is a big deal, indeed...and it always makes me cry...those warm fuzzy cries, ya know!!!

Brian stopped this year to crush the cups that everyone drank from and threw down. I guess we are still honing those running skills, huh?

Uh, looks like you got some spam in the comment above this comment. How does that happen, I wonder? You have your little word verification de-spammer activated!

(Oh, another thing you can do about the spam is make it so that you have to approve the messages before they get posted to your blog, I was getting a bunch of spam a while ago, and I activated that tool, and no more spam!)

I noticed that I can click on all of your pictures to get them to enlarge (I am nosy like that)...I enjoyed seeing the pics of Micah and his Dad running like champs! Anyway...I cannot figure out why my pictures won't enlarge when you click on them. Did you do anything special?

What a great idea for a school sponsored event. I enlarged the pictures and printed myself my own 8/10 size of Davin & Micah running side by side, and the shots at the end of the race where Micah poses with each of his parents. Davin & Mary, I keep your 'blog' entries in a 3 ring binder/notebook, for my continued enjoyment and for family history purposes. I keep Mark's family, and Salli's too.
Nicely done, Micah. You did well. You did VERY WELL!! Grandpa Dan and I send you our congratulations, with lots of love, too.
