Okay, so it's been a while since I posted about our trip, so I thought I'd write a little bit about Rome. Ahh, Rome. I absolutely LOVE Rome. It is so incredible. Our trip started in Rome, we were able to spend about 4 day there, and I think we did a little of everything. There was SO much to do.

The Roman Forum. It was amazing to see all the thing that they have uncovered, and
still are uncovering.

Dudi and I in front of the Arc of Constantine. This is in the Roman Forum area, right outside the Colosseum.

The Colosseum. It was massive. I was a little shocked to walk down the street and look up and see it right in the middle of the modern city.

The inside of the Colosseum.

Vatican City. I tell ya, these people don't do anything on a small scale.

My illegal shot of the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
I had NO idea what I was taking a picture of, so I'm surprised it turned out this good. The place was swarming with Nazi-esque guards repeating "no pictures" in their cute Italian accents.
I was so proud of myself.
Good times.
The colors were so beautiful. I am in awe of Michelangelo. He did masterpiece after masterpiece, so incredible.

Speaking of incredible.
Yum-Gelato.

One of my favorite sculptures, Michelangelo's
Pieta.
The picture does not do it justice.

Pantheon=Huge.

Inside the Pantheon.
Notice that behind Dudi and I the floor is roped off. It was raining and water was all over the floor from the open dome.

The roads were so cool.
Way prettier than modern day asphalt, don't ya think?

We had a blast in Rome and were really fortunate to see a ton of stuff.
It was like all my art history books coming to life-I loved it.

Wow, Mary! So awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your pictures and stories. The pictures turn out so well!! What great pictures you have of both of you together as well!!! I love them! You are Beautiful!!!
I love your title!
You renegade!!! Great job getting that shot of the Sistine Chapel ceiling. I am sorry that I now have to turn you in to the authorities ;).
I know I mentioned this before but I love your hat. I also like your gloves. I know, that was random.
Rome is so amazing. Whoa, that would be wild to see the enormous Colosseum just sitting in the middle of the city. It amazes me how it is still standing and what they were able to create so many years ago.
Thanks for all the gorgeous pictures. They bring back a flood of once-in-a-lifetime memories for Dan and me! Of course I really enjoyed seeing Mark with you and Davin in that one shot....but, the weather was obviously 'cooler' this time, compared to the first time Mark and Mr. B were in Rome together; that was in the last week of JUNE. [17 years ago now, but it seems in some ways just like yesterday to me.]
