Livy the Dancer in Video

This is a follow-on to a previous post. Livy is such a sweet girl and she is such a ham on stage. Here are videos of her dress rehearsal and dance recital in May/June earlier this year. She is so fun to watch and she loves to dress up as a ballerina. The rehearsal (first video) is actually a better run-through of the performance and Livy seemed to do the dance better in this showing. (I do apologize for the the high-pitched noise audible throughout the video. That is Livy's dance teacher yelling out instructions.) The recital (second video) is worth watching all the way to the end for a little theatrical surprise from Livy. She kills me. Where does she come up with this stuff?

We enrolled Livy in an Irish Dancing class taught by a bi-lingual instruction in downtown Wiesbaden this year to keep her in the dancing frame of mind. It is also a good way to immerse her in a German environment. Her favorite phrase thus far is Knie hoch!

Oh my gosh! How adorable is that last 'blown kiss' to the audience?!! And done with such perfect finesse and charm!! I loved the videos! Thanks Mr. B for getting them up on the computer. And by the way, it is very seldom with children that young that the performance DOES GO AS WELL as the rehearsal. Most all our dress rehearsals at Centerville Academy end up being better than the real deal with our little 4 and 5 yr. old number. It's just how it goes up on a real stage with all that audience out there. A little bit of nerves or something like that.
Livy is really very graceful! She has lovely position and dance posture. Her hands and arms have beautiful extension. Hug her for her grandma Marcia!

I know I sound like a total copycat...but I totally noticed all of the things that your mom mentioned about Livy's performance. I kept thinking how gracefully she held her arms and how she was right with the music. I know her teacher wishes she had a class full of Livy's because...well...Olivia was the only one on cue. Not that I am partial...she is really good!!

Uh, the teacher screaming like a banshee was KILLING me! Hilarious. I thought you were kidding when you mentioned the, "high-pitched noise". then I heard for myself...and I use the word, "heard" loosely...it was more of an assault on my ears.

And the kiss to the crowd? TO. DIE. FOR! She was born to dance! She owns the stage! No, seriously, she really does!

...and could someone please tell the person that was walking in front of your camera that it is impolite to walk around during a performance. Grr.
