USA! USA! (Genoa, Italy-Day 1)

One day at the end of January, Dudi and were watching a USA soccer game.  After the game was over, the announcer said the next US friendly game would be held in Genoa, Italy.  I casually said, "I wonder it it is gonna be held in the US or Italy.  We should go if it's in Italy."  Dudi immediately got on the internet and a month later we found ourselves driving through Switzerland on our way to Italy to watch the USA/Italy game.  Our first European family vacation...for a soccer game. :)  And yes, it was awesome!!!!! (WARNING-if you are not a soccer/football fan, this will be a very long, boring post full of meaningless pics)

It was a late game, so thankfully the kids slept in the car on the drive.

Our seats could not have been any better.  We were in the USA section, row 5!
I don't think the person taking the pic realized Olivia was ours too!

 Dempsey-our favorite!

Tim Howard was awesome! He saved the game.(He's another fav.)

 GOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!

The boys decked out in their USA gear.

Finaly score was USA 1, Italy 0.  First time USA has beat Italy! Sweet.  It was such a fun way to start our trip.

I just found out that our soccer team didn't make the Olympics! Bummer! At least you got to see what must have been a fantastic game!

It is so amazing that you are THERE!!! And how awesome is the fact that you were there for the first time the USA beat Italy!!!

You look great, by the way...and I am laughing at the fact that the photographer didn't really include Olivia in the picture...Just some adorable child in the background to the photographer...

Mike is going to be so jealous...I'll be sure to show him this right away ;)

Mary and Mr. B: Dad and I LOVE the pictures!!!!!!!! Seeing the Duomo and the Galleria made us feel like we were there all over again! Mary, I took a picture of us and our 5 kids at the same spot (or so it would appear) in the Galleria there in Milano back in June of 1992!!
Pizza and gilato--yep, that about sums up our family diet while there, too. Just throw in a few loaves of great Italian style bread, and there you have it! Oh--and a few bananas. :)
Everyone of your 'european' trip blogs gets printed out by me and put into your families brand new 'journal' book binder for my keeping. Just so you know.
Anyway, I'm excited to hear about your trip to Holland this week. My eyes are 'still ablaze' just thinking about all the gorgeous color you'll be seeing while there in tulip harvesting time!
Can't wait to talk with you guys Sunday about the towns and cities you visit that Dan served his mission in. Share all the details. I carefully and lovingly read every word. xoxoxo mom (marceeu)

p.s. Loved the picture of Livy leading the music! Must be a chip off her grandma marcia's 'block'. :)
And she is absolutely adorable in those pig tails tied with red ribbons. Of course ALL the pictures are perfect!: see that's it; you are a PICTURE PERFECT FAMILY--including adorable Jude!
