Keepin' it real

Progress Reports went home today.
This is what they looked like.

This was Asher's.
Everything had Satisfactory marks, except "listen's carefully." Now, I never had an "N" come home on any of my report cards/progress reports, or any of Micah's, so this was a little bit of a shock. Not because I thought he was being perfect at school (I'm sure he is though), but because he's never come home with a "smile covered" or any kind of behavior note.
So I asked Asher about it.
In true Asher fashion he replied that his table "kinda talked a lot" but that his teacher didn't have to get on to them today or yesterday (he was really enthusiastic about it)!
Awesome.
Is it bad for me to have the attitude of "whatever?!"
I'm actually just glad he's making friends!
(I did tell him he needed to make sure and listen to his teacher though)

That wasn't the only "N" that came home though...

Yes, and I find this amusing also.
I mean, it's not like I tell Micah everytime I do homework with him that he needs to write slower and neater. To which my loving husband replies, "he's a boy."
And his teacher is a girl.
Point made.

I had to giggle because Brian got a note yesterday because he was talking during the silent time at lunch. I had a similar reaction. I thought to myself, "Whatever...it's dumb that they can't talk for the majority of lunch time."

I also agree with the handwriting thing..Adam's handwriting is ATROCIOUS. I tell him how he needs to write a lot more legibly each and every time I correct his homework. I am about ready to give up because he started to cry the other day...Maybe he will be a doctor...they say doctors have terrible handwriting ;)
