Run, Ashy, Run

This last summer was the first time I took on the task of coaching t-ball. I have coached soccer teams for Micah and Asher before, but this was a different challenge. It was a good time for me to bond with Asher, who, like his father, always seems to go out of his way to make bonding nearly impossible. Besides gaining a greater appreciation for Asher's enthusiasm and unique personality, this experience confirmed for me that baseball is boring, while soccer is king!

I put together this random video of one of Asher's games to commemorate the season. The one thing this clip doesn't convey is how miserably hot and humid the hades-esq Georgia weather was for each game and practice. What the clip does convey is Asher's patented "round-about" running pattern to 1st base. This was always the highlight of each game.

DBA, I LOVED your comments and the clip! You are a great dad, taking the time often to coach your boys at various athletic endeavors. As you know, YOUR dad always stuck to coaching baseball with YOU, but--just the same-- he so enjoyed sharing all that time and love with YOU, and your brothers, as you do today with your boys.
Ashy is a 'hoot'..an adorable one at that!

I love it!! I guess he just wanted to throw in some extra exercise on the run to first base.

Love the video. You are very creative.
