Conference Weekend

A miracle happened over Conference weekend. Dudi and I were able to sit and watch ALL the sessions! The kids were SOOO good. We built our little "King Benjamin tent," got out coloring books for the little kids, and gave Micah one of the Conference packets to work on. Asher and Micah had conference bingo sheets and each word they heard from the sheet during a talk they would put an m&m on. At the end of the talk they got to eat all the m&m's on the sheet and start over with the next talk. ALSO, if they could tell us something they learned from each talk, they got to pick a prize out of a "prize bowl."
Dudi calls it bribbery, I call it "gentle persuasion."
Worked like a charm.
We are really trying to make conference something the kids look forward to.
All the talks were excellent-I feel rejuvenated. I really liked the talk on temples and our homes (continually working on this). I'm so lucky to have the gospel.

Micah did so good filling out the packet. He really liked it.
It was a great weekend!

Joe's sister tried that packet with her little 4 yr old son. He wasn't into it that much. although he did stay focused with the bingo for about 10 minutes. AFter he got a bingo and was able to eat the m&m's he was done. I think Joe's dad enjoyed the bingo more than our nephew did!

I feel better, too. Conference helped me in a lot of ways. I loved seeing Micah's sheets.

It is amazing that the temple and the home are equally sacred...I need to work on this and felt inspired when I was reminded of that. I guess I should not yell around here...temple workers don't yell at me. (Ironically my boys are fighting right this very second)

So glad to hear of your positive General Conference viewing experience! Nice to see the packet after it's actually been USED! {couldn't help but recognize that TIE page}:) Maybe you got that same packet I emailed you from another source as well, but I'm happy to see it worked well for you and your sweet kids.
You are good parents!!!
