Wordle Christmas

If you've never seen a "wordle" before, you're definitely missing out (www.wordle.net). The algorithms used to generate the wordles make for some very interesting works of art that are uniquely personal because the words or phrases artistically displayed are inputted by the individual user. The pattern of artistic arrangement and font type, color, and sizes are also all customizable. All in all, one could literally spend (waste?) hours and hours creating wordles that can be posted on the web or saved as a pdf file.

After catching on to several spousal hints, I decided to go out on a limb this last Christmas and make a wordle for Mary's present. My intention was to create a piece of verbal art that captured the essence of our nine years of marriage. To do this, I included a stream of nouns and adjectives of what defines our marriage, as well as all the places we have visited, our favorite T.V. shows, favorite foods, favorite restaurants, favorite games, a plethora of inside jokes, etc. Click on the link below to see the wordle.

I paid Kinko's to do a 24"x36" print of the wordle on premium photo paper. I didn't know what kind of frame Mary wanted (I'm good ... but not that good), so after Christmas we went to Michael's and picked up a nice frame at 40% off. I hung the piece up in our bedroom above the chase.

Dear Davin,
Nice to see your finished project. I remember the day you phoned, asking about a detail of The Inn At Temple Square. I see it made the wordle. You refer to 'unique in-laws'. Is that a reference to your father and me?--or is it Glenn and Cindy?:) just wondering! :)
I notice Rehobath Beach, Nauvoo, & Wshington D.C. ---places your dad and I have enjoyed sharing with you. I remember hearing about the cheeseburger proposal. ( I'm sure this wordle alone has redeemed you.)
I noticed lots of things. And I remember the yellow dress. I think I'm a lot responsible for your Steven's hot cocoa ....incidentally, did you enjoy the last cans I sent your way? It's probably best I don't know any more about the make out house, or the sensual amber. :)
Do you have the green bean caserole much anymore?:) I recognize the names of the places you've lived...like Nashville and Royal Arms. It was fun visiting you there, too.
And didn't we attend Noah's Ark live, in the middle of Lancaster County on our visit together to Amish Country? Your Dad still talks about that fun, fun trip. Thanks.
I remember when you worked at Chili's. It was fun eating there with you guys. You did KNOW what was best on the menu.
Las Hermanos is the good old BYU/Provo standby. Thanks for sharing those memories with us, too. I could continue, but I've probably lost my reading audience by now. mom
